AMAD Committee | Preventing MAID for Mental Illness

Here at CPL, we have been closely monitoring the parliamentary committee hearings studying MAID for mental illness. It has been excellent to hear so many witnesses speaking against the expansion and insisting on better suicide prevention strategies rather than MAID.

We are pleased to report that the committee is showing a strong openness to scrapping the planned expansion of euthanasia to those whose sole condition is a mental illness.
